Pointer Location depends on desktop resolution?

During some testing between a really small desktop resolution on one computer (1024) and a really large desktop resolution on another computer (1900) we discovered that the green pointer was in a different place on both monitors. What gives? Why doesn't the pointer show up in the same place on all attendees screens?
