Edge server DNS configuration

Hello -

I am trying to configure two edge servers that will connect to our enterprise origin (origin.main.com).  I believe I have everything working except for the DNS configuration.  I do not know how to configure the DNS at the edge locations.  The directions state to "map the FQDN of the origin server to the static IP address of the edge server".  I am not able to do this in DNS because it will populate the domain name of the edge (i.e edge1.remote.main.com).  The DNS at the remote site will not allow me to just enter orgin.main.com.  Please let me know if anyone has any help for me.  Thanks.
