Presenter Mobile App

This app doesn't work with Presenter presentations prepared on versions prior to 8.  How difficult, what's involved in upgrading one's content to the later versions?  Time consuming?

What is involved is republishing with Presenter 8 or 9. The files required to play in the mobile app were not a part of Presenter 7 or earlier, as the app didn't exist when those versions were created.

How time consuming? It depends on the number of projects you need to convert and how large they are. The more there is to convert, the longer it will take. If needed, you can always look to install the trial of Presenter 9 on a multiple computers and have them all working away on publishing new versions of the projects.
