Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

I didn't even see this as an export option in the Presenter 8 trial. How do you publish for iPad in AP8?

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

Ah, there is the trick. You don't have to publish for it specifically. This app should just wake up when you call a URL to a presenter presentation.

I haven't commandeered an iPad yet to test, so I was just curious how well it worked, and if it required content output with Presenter 8, or if it was backwards compatible.

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

With Presenter 7 and lower content, you receive the message "This content is published with Adobe Presenter version less than 8. This content is not supported."

It also looks like you need the direct URL of the content. Has anyone tried clicking on a link to a Presenter Presentation on an iPad and see if that automatically launches Presenter Mobile?

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

Glad to hear it works! Bummer to hear you have to republish everything!

The description seems to imply that you can just click the link to the presentation and it should launch, but good to know that may not be true.

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

Presenter Mobile App for iPad - no luck

I have just downloaded the new Adobe Presenter Mobile App. Then uploaded a PowerPoint file pptx presentation online to see if it works with the App.

No luck at all, all I get is a message saying: This is not a valid Presenter URL.

What am I missing here? Do you need to 'publish' the presentation somehow via Presenter 8? The confusing thing is that it publishes only to flash, and Adobe specifically tells you to use pptx presentations for iPad.

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

MSG - You can't post a PPTX file directly on your web server and open the PPTX file in Presenter Mobile. You have to publish from Adobe Presenter 8 as you normally would and your source PPT file must be saved in the PPTX format. Publishing content from PPT files that are in the older .ppt format and then trying to view those files in Presenter Mobile will result in the message that that the original file has to be in PPTX format. I wish they would have told us that in the Presenter UI, not in the iPad app. =)

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

So I've been able to play back a presentation in Presenter Mobile as follows:

- The original PPT file must be in PPTX format (if it's in PPT, do a "Save As..." into PPTX)
- You have to publish with Presenter 8 and post the published Presenter 8 files on a web server
- You have to enter the URL manually into Presenter Mobile

If you click on a web link in an html page which points to a Presenter 8 file, Presenter Mobile will launch on your iPad. However, it appears that the URL of the presentation is not being passed correctly to the Presenter Mobile app, because instead of the presentation launching, you get a "This is not a valid Presenter URL" message.

Hopefully that will be fixed in Presenter Mobile 1.0.1.

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

Hi, Sorry I'm late to this thread.
The planned workflow is for users to click on a Presenter published URL (be it on Connect, or any other LMS, or in an email), and the Presenter App will open the content. As @bklaas mentioned, it needs to be PPTX content published using Presenter 8.
The is a small bug currently- the URL being published has a backslash at the end, which needs to be removed. Hence the users needs to make this edit before clicking or copy/pasting the URL. This is being addressed in the upcoming update (next few weeks).
Meanwhile, the blog posts and video tutorial below should help you get started with this app:

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

Question: does the iPad app support video embedded into a Presenter presentation? What about custom Flash .swfs?

Edit 2 minutes later: I can see from the second blog post ( http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2012/0 … -ipad.html ) that the answer is no:

Embedded Flash Projects (SWF files) including Interactions, Captivate SWF

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

Thanks for all the feed back! It's great to know this works (even if with a a few caveats). Hopefully 1.0.1 brings some solutions and we can see this tool grow!

Please, keep giving your feedback so we can voice our needs for it's growth!

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

I have tested a Presenter presentation on the Adobe Presenter Mobile app and have been able to get it to work, once I deleted the "/" on the end.  However, I just tried to view a presentation I have in Blackboard Mobile - when I tap on the link, it then automatically switches me over to Presenter Mobile, and I get an error saying "This is not a valid Presenter URL".  I sure hope this gets fixed soon, as it would be really great if my students could access my course content in Blackboard and watch my Presenter files all on their iPad.

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

I got the Adobe Presenter working on iPad now. I just published the files as I normally would by using PowerPoint 2010 and Presenter8. Then went on Safari and clicked the link. The presentation was automatically launched in Presenter Mobile app.

I noticed one problem though, my video started playing automatically, even though it was set to start after all animations. In web browsers on a PC this doesn't happen. In this case it's not a huge problem, but potentially I could see this being one.

Re: Adobe Presenter Mobile

We got Presenter presentations working on iPad over http as well, now we would like to provide them in our LMS, where students need to authenticate and access presentations via https. When calling the presentation URL via https on the iPad the Presenter Mobile App starts but then endlessly loads the presentation without showing an error message. Is https supported in general?

I've tried this, but Presenter Mobile did not automatically launch. ('Need flash player' screen is shown on Safari)

Question:
- Is the 'link' you clicked on Safari 'URL for Viewing' of Connect content?
(e.g. http://hostname/p4nb5t2om0a/)

Thanks,
