MP4's and F4V's have always had inconsistent playback behavior.  You mention that you have had issues with FLV playback, but that has always worked well for me. I believe the issue lies in the player in the Connect meeting room and how it handles the MP4 content.

My solution has always been to use FLV content with the following settings (or something similar):

FLV
H.263
720X480
800 Kbps

Thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately, we were hoping to be able to utilize the new Publish to Connect option in Presenter 8's Video Creator, which is very limited in output options.

I have to wonder if replacing the default .swf player with something else is a feasible option.

I suspect it will be fixed in Connect 9.

I don't believe that replacing it is a feasible option, though you could create a custom pod that uses a different one if you wanted.
