Presenter Error message

Hello All,

I have had Presenter for a long time, and have been updating it regularly.

Over the last two weeks it has started acting odd...the Presenter Tab (PPT 2010) simply stopped triggering any actions when an item was clicked (click publish...nothing happens).

So I uninstalled and reinstalled...this worked for a few days. Yesterday it started to intermittently do the same thing...

Today I tried to set slide properties (so the presentation would loop) and I got this error:

"Adobe Presenter has encounterd an unexpected problem while working with this presentation. Try saving your work to a ndw file and restarting PowerPoint. If the problem persists, consult the Help Menu item, or contact support at http://www.adobe.com/support/presenter."

Saving the file to a new presentation did not work...Clicking on the Help menu displays this error:
"An error occured while calling the callback: "GetImage"

The Help menu then told me I was not connected to the internet and to try again later.

Thoughts?

Re: Presenter Error message

Are your presentations on a shared or network drive?

Re: Presenter Error message

Yes and no.

I have some on the shared (they all start there) and then some on the desktop.

Now that you ask, I do recall reading somewhere about strange hang ups with network drive projects...is that still the case?

Re: Presenter Error message

Yes, Presenter has never done well with presentations on shared drives. The biggest symptom is you select an option in Presenter (like import video or audio) and it just does nothing.

Always have your presentations stored locally while you work on them.

Re: Presenter Error message

Hello,

So some time has passed and this issue has popped up on me again.

This time I started the project locally and saved it to the desktop before I started...I also made sure to save an assets (image files etc) in the same folder on the desktop)

Same thing happens I click on the presenter tab, select an option and nothing.

I have checked for updates...there are none.
I have closed and reopened...nothing.
I have saved the project as a ppt instead of pptx...nothing.
I ran the repair program tool from my PC and it istalled it again...nothing
I even clicked the 'Help' button and got no performance either.

Hovering over the panels in the Adobe Presenter tab of the ribbon displays the tool tips...but they do nothing.

What gives?

Re: Presenter Error message

Do you get an error message or just nothing?

You may be at the point that you should call Support 800-945-9120. They should be able to help find the answer.

Re: Presenter Error message

I would also try testing from another users' workstation who also has a licensed installation of Presenter. It sounds like a config issue. Have other users in your org reported a problem of this kind?

Re: Presenter Error message

There are no other users of the application in my organization. We have just the one copy.

It's all me!
