Multicasting
Multicasting
Hi there everyone!
A client wishes to build a Connect solution to run meetings and virtual classes (he will probably licence Meeting and Training). They have many branches in different parts of the country and would like to know how to optimize video performance using servers and maybe multicasting.
So, supposing a scenario where there are, say, 40 computers in the same room in a distant town, instead of transmitting to 40 machines, it would be better to transmit to only one and then share the same data packets among the 40 in their premises.
Is this possible? What is the best approach?
Thank you very much for any ideas!

Re: Multicasting
Marcos, I wouldn't worry about 40 users. If you had 1000 MAYBE I would suggest an Edge, but only if you were having issues. Otherwise I would just use the standard setup.

Re: Multicasting
Yes, the Adobe Connect Edge Server does that exact function. It acts as proxy. But with 40 users it might be overkill and cost you more money than it is worth.
