PDF zoom - magnification not synching with writing or users screens

I use connect for teaching. I use pdfs as worksheets.

Issue 1 - I use a large monitor and if I zoom the pdf to to see the whole page at the highest possible magnification. Recently, this has not synced with participant's screens, so I see the whole page and they can only see the top  part. If I reduce the zoom to the point they can see the whole page, it is unusable for me.

Issue 2 - The students write on pdfs in breakout rooms, usually zooming them to make it easier to write but when I zoom out to mark and screen shoot their work, the writing does not sync with the base pdf and goes all over the page.

I've noticed some strange things going on with zooming recently.  I've also found that there are big jumps when zooming, e.g. from 200% to 400%, but I use a two computers for my lessons (so that I can check whether stuff is appearing correctly), and I find that I can get around that problem by zooming on the second computer, which has a smaller screen.
