New Audio Codec Question - Adobe Connect 11.2

i am hoping someone can help.

Following on from Alistair Lee Tutorial - Standard view and Classic view in Adobe Connect 11.2, i had a question regarding the comment about the new audio codec not being supported on mobile devices.

Does anyone know what happens if you have a split audience over HTML5, PC/MAC app and mobile Apps and you have the new codec enabled? Do the people who are using supported PC/MAC app and HTML5 listen with new codec and non supported devices receive the old audio codec or do they hear nothing?

Also does the new audio codec if any impact on the integrated telephony adaptors? Thanks for your support

Thanks

Re: New Audio Codec Question - Adobe Connect 11.2

If your room is setup with Enhanced audio, the HTML5 and PC/macOS users will all have the new codec enabled. Someone using the current (as of Jan/21) mobile apps would not be able to join the room. The mobile apps are being updated soon, but in the meantime if you want to ensure mobile users can join, you should not enabled enhanced audio.

The new codec should also improve any audio being broadcast from the integrated telephony adaptors since the new codec will be used here as well.

For those interested, the new audio codec is the Opus codec (also used by Zoom, Slack, and others).
