Is there a cutoff date for using Flash in Adobe Connect?

It looks like many people have been moving to the HTML client in Adobe Connect, but my company is still using the Flash version.  Do we know when the Flash version will no longer be available and we are forced to use the HTML client version?

Re: Is there a cutoff date for using Flash in Adobe Connect?

This isn't really a black and white question, as there are a lot of variables that can come into play.

Official support, or end of support timelines, for the versions of Connect can be found here https://helpx.adobe.com/support/program … ix.html#CD

Adobe will no longer be supporting/updating Flash in web browsers as of Jan 1, 2021. This doesn't mean that Flash will no longer work or be available in browsers, though the individual browser teams may choose to not allow Flash Player in their new versions. However, if you are in an environment with a locked down configuration, there is nothing to stop you from using Connect with a Flash version beyond Dec 31, 2020. Additionally, the Desktop App has a sandboxed version of Flash, meaning it is not reliant on your web browser having Flash Player, and could therefore be used beyond the 2021 death of Flash Player. This app will continue to be supported by Adobe as Connect 9 and 10 will be supported by Adobe into 2023.

It is expected that in the first half of 2020 we'll have an all HTML version of Connect, so should that be the path of least resistance, I would expect that to be your timeline to get off Flash with Connect.
