Problems with share pods and desktop app

When I open a meeting room in the desktop app the content in share pods are not loading. Even if I open a new share and try to load content it displays a broken image or loading symbol but never the content. If however I launch the meeting through a browser such as edge, it loads fine. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling but the problem persists and it doesn't resolve the problem. Any ideas to solve this problem? Thanks.
