Audio output cuts off when unmuting microphone

When I'm in a meeting that supports VOIP and unmute my microphone, the output device cuts off for a second. While this is a short interruption, it can cause me to miss half a sentence.

Is this expected behavior?

System Details:
OS: macOS High Sierra 10.13.3
Adobe Connect application version: MAC 11.9.982.437
Adobe Connection Version: 9.8.0
Input/Output device: Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 (gen 1)

Tony,

Please try using the beta of the new Mac app and let us know if that solves your problem. It can be downloaded from here https://helpx.adobe.com/adobe-connect/r … quirements

I've successfully downloaded the beta client. I'll update this thread next week, after my next scheduled Connect call.
