RAM & Photoshop CS3

My new DELL came with 4.00 GB Ram. My Photoshop CS3 (I know it is old but that is all I need and do not need extra bells & whistles!). was working just fine. Since 4:00GB RAM was slow, I added another 4:GB Ram (It takes 8 GB RAM Max). Now the colors in my photoshop are misbehaving. If I select a color and use the brush tool to draw, the color is totally different! Why? Somebody please help. I called Photoshop, they sent me from pillar to post. Then a guy told me I need new Acrobat. I down loaded and activated it, no go, no show. Please help me before I re,ove the extra RAM and go back to the 4:00RAM. Thank you.
