Need List of Participants For an Event With Custom Fields

I already know that by using 'action=permissions-info...' I can obtain a list of guests for an event. However the response is rather terse when it comes to each participant record. Is there any way to get a list of participants with custom field values? Otherwise I will need to perform a principal-info request for each and every participant. Thanks!
