Adobe Presenter and the Chromebooks using ChromeOS... no audio/video

A Chromebook (the Samsung, with 3G), using the ChromeOS, is *not* able to use audio/video with Adobe's Connect collaboration tool.  Since that tool requires a small download for the Wintel/Mac machines, I'm sure that the Chromebook's inability to run local apps is the problem.  Has anyone had better luck, or have an interesting workaround?

The Chromebook is an interesting strategy, providing an "all-browser, all the time" environment.
