Adobe Connect Server Info?

I am trying to update eLearning created by my predecessor but need help with the connection between Adobe Captivate 7 and Adobe Connect. Where can I find the server info? I see the URL/domain information but I'm not sure if that is it. I read a different post that said Adobe sends an email with that information but I doubt I'll be able to find that (if it was even kept.)

Thanks

Re: Adobe Connect Server Info?

You would need to know if your company's account was hosted by Adobe or installed on premise. The purchase of Captivate and Connect may or may not have been done at the same time through the same company. But going to the reseller you purchased Captivate from may be a good place to start if no one is aware of the Connect URL.

You mention that you are updating the eLearning created by your predecessor. Does that mean you know how to access that material? If so, then you know the URL for your server as it would be the first part of the URL for accessing the training. Something like http://yourcompany.adobeconnect.com/ (hosted) or http://connect.yourcompany.com/ (a common licensed url).

Thank you, that gives me some clues to follow. I do have the address follow, i.e. https://ministry.adobeconnect.com - is that what I enter as the server?

Re: Adobe Connect Server Info?

That is a server URL, though I don't think you need the https:// when giving it to Captivate.

That URL doesn't seem to be valid, but you may have changed the URL for posting in the forum. If the account is still active then you should be good with a login that has Author or Meeting Host rights. That will allow you push the presentation to the server.

Re: Adobe Connect Server Info?

Thanks again for your help in this forum!

I changed the URL slightly to post it here, but even after changing the https to an http to mimic your example,  http://yourcompany.adobeconnect.com/, I got a connection error. I'm going to see if there is IT help available.

I was able to find a training video from 2013 in the user community which gave me the idea of saving the Captivate file as a .swp flash file and then uploading it. Definitely more clunky than following the steps via Captivate, but it works for now and allows us to meet deadline.

Cheers

Re: Adobe Connect Server Info?

In Captivate, try just putting yourcompany.adobeconnect.com (no https:// or http://) and see if that works better. I believe Captivate will assume the http:// so if you put it in and then try to publish to Connect it tries to call http://http://yourcompany.adobeconnect.com/, which will give you a connection error.
