Recording audio and video do not sync when navigating with "Sharing"

A professor is recording lectures in which she uploads a powerpoint, starts her recording, and speaks over the powerpoint.

Because these lectures are long, she wants students to be able to move through them using the sharing function. However, with some of the lectures -- not all of them, but some of them -- she and her students noticed that the audio would move to the proper place, but the video never advanced.

Has anyone experienced this issue? She has re-recorded some of these lectures multiple times and sometimes re-recording fixes it and sometimes it doesn't. I have reproduced the problem watching her recordings on both PC and Mac (windows 7 and OSX El Capitan). We are on a hosted solution Adobe Connect 9.5.2.
