Importing an Excel .CSV file for registration - not working

I've created a custom import template for Connect 9.2, and I've formatted the headers exactly as instructed (first-name, last-name, etc).

I saved the Excel file as .CSV and try to import it into Connect. I get multiple errors each time.

I've also opened the .CSV file in NotePad and saved it as a .TXT file and tried to import it this way (one user had success with this method), but no luck.

I used the "Customize User Profile" and retrieved the customized info from the URL, per Connect instructions, create headings like "Store," "Owner," etc. These are the strings of numbers next to the "x-" below.

Here are the headers in my registration file I need to import.

first-name, last-name, login, email, password, x-1095244799, x-1095244789,    x-city, x-state, x-zip, x-mobile-phone, x-1104265985, x-1104319406, x-1104273673,

If you see something I'm doing wrong, please indicate it. Thanks for your help.

Re: Importing an Excel .CSV file for registration - not working

OK, two things.

1. NO SPACES. The CSV cannot have any spaces. So, your CSV should look like this in Notepad (or whatever)

first-name,last-name,login,email,password,x-1095244799,x-1095244789,x-city,x-state,x-zip,x-mobile-phone,x-1104265985,x-1104319406,x-1104273673,

Make sure there are no spaces before or after the user fields either.

2. A TXT file will not work. It must be a CSV.

The x- value is the correct way of listing the headers, so good call there!

Re: Importing an Excel .CSV file for registration - not working

I'm having the same issue actually.

The CSV template I've been using in connect 8 has suddenly stopped working since the update to 9.2 and I've changed nothing in the parameters.

All I do is remove the old information (first name last name email) and add a new one in.

Any reason why its no longer working after working for years?

What error are you getting when trying to upload the CSV?

Does it error out with just one user on it? 5 users? More users?

Its saying operation complete, no errors, but its not adding anyone to the system.

Sounds like Adobe probably needs to look at it. Maybe they can see something on the back end that isn't being communicated to you.
