Adobe Connect 9.2

We just received word that in less than 30 days we will be upgraded to 9.2. We received some information that minimum tech specs for this version are Mac OS 10.7. I cannot find any information beyond what is new as far as features on the website. Anyone have more information -especially on specs?

Re: Adobe Connect 9.2

Yep, Jorma. Been there - the only thing there is the what is new document. Nothing there about specs.

Re: Adobe Connect 9.2

That is the best place to find information on 9.2 as it is released. More details will be released as we near the release date.

When its released, full tech specs will be here, http://www.adobe.com/products/adobeconn … specs.html, but I suspect you knew that too.

I don't expect many changes to the specs other than no longer supporting OSX 10.6, and requiring Flash Player 11.2.

You can always talk to your reseller and see about setting up a road-map call with Adobe, under NDA, that will cover the coming requirements for 9.2. For what it's worth, not supported doesn't mean won't work.

Thanks, Jorma. Your response is much appreciated and thanks for pointing out that not supported doesn't mean won't work.

In my education setting, we have a number of computers used for hosting at 10.6 and a large amount of participant computers at 10.6. With less than 30 days until we are upgraded, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that 10.6 works successfully.

I must say that I am disappointed by what is available from Adobe as far as support materials for 9.2 with such a close upgrade date. Having videos, appropriate documentation of changes, and the ability to download a 30-day trial a head of time for past upgrades has allowed my organization to make the transitions pretty painlessly in the past. This one is a different story.

Re: Adobe Connect 9.2

Thanks both for the above info.

Is there any information available of whether Flash Player 11.2 will truly be the REQUIRED minimum for Adobe Connect 9.2?

I ask because for Adobe Connect 9.1, it was "recommended" that users have 11.2, but worked with older Flash Player versions as well. We work with some corporate clients who are very slow to update Flash Player versions at a company level and want to get a head start on updates if necessary.

Thanks!

Re: Adobe Connect 9.2

With this statement from Adobe:

Adobe Flash Player 11.2 or greater will be required to attend Adobe Connect 9.2 meetings.

I'd venture to say that 11.2 is going to be required. I believe Connect 9 and 9.1 were the soft upgrade to FP 11.2, where 9.2 will have the hard line.
