Hello,

I have quite a few users running 64-bit.

However, Adobe states that the updated Presenter Installer for Microsoft

It runs fine on a 64 bit OS. I use it regularly on my Windows 7 64bit computer.

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

Thanks Jorma. The issue I am experiencing is that certain users with Windows 7 and Office 2010 are unable to install it. I found that the common thread between all the users that were not able to install it/use it were 64 bit users. So I was under the assumption that the installer Adobe provided was for 32 bit users.

When installing to Office 2010, be sure to run the installer and all the updates before launching PPT. Presenter 7.0.6 is required for PPT2010, and it will not work until you get it there. I can get you the updaters, if needed.

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

Hi Jorma, Thanks again for the information.

The issue is that the software will not even install on the machines. We turned off UAC, turned off anti-virus software, the users are admins, we save the installers locally and run it as an admin, but the software does not install at all on the machines. I looked at the registry and it is not there either and like I mentioned they are 64 bit users, unless they have another thing in common. But did Adobe say that the 32 bit installer should work on the 64 bit system?

Hi Kim,

I believe officially they have supported a 32-bit system, however I am also running it on a Win 7 machine which is 64 bit.

Download the latest installer and install Presenter. Can you tell me what error you are getting while installing ?

Thanks,
Ravi

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

Hi Ravi,

We had a user report to use that she was able to install it, but that when she selects the Adobe Presenter menu within PowerPoint she receives an error indicating that she doesnt have a license key, that prompt only flashes for a second, and if you are able to read it, there is no indication on where to put the serial number, even though it was entered originally.

The other cases we have are for users who are not able to install the software at all. Unfortunately, those users do not receive an error message at all. It simply goes through the installation, we have a silent installer for our users, but when they ran into issues, we manually installed the software and typed in the key, and the software does not appear on the computer, as a disabled plug-in, in the add/or remove programs, or in the registry. Unfortunately, our users are not local, as we provide remote support, so we do not have more information than this.

The Adobe site says that it is for 32-bit editions only: http://www.adobe.com/products/presenter/systemreqs/

Hi Kim,

I have installed the Presenter from this link:

http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/pre … senter.msi

I was able to successfully install it on my Win 7 with 64-Bit. I would recommend you to give a try on fresh machine with 64-Bit.

Thanks,
Ravi

On a 64bit windows you can install 32 bit office or 64 bit MSoffice.

On my pc the presenter works on 64 bit win7 with 32 bit office. I haven't  tried the presenter on 64 it office.

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

Hi Jorma - Can you get me the updates? I would truly appreciate it.

Thank you all for your responses. I am surprised that the the 32 bit installer would work on a 64 bit system because I would think the 32 bit would lack specifics .dlls.

But batkobiker - you brought up an excellent point, I did not think about bit in MS Office. But I read that the 32-bit version of Office 2010 provides the same functionality and is also compatible with 32-bit add-ins.

I am going to contact support for these specific users.

Thank you all for your assistance.

I will post any updates to this topic.

Do any of your 64 bit systems with Office 2010 32 bit work?  I was told today that my problems stem from having a 64 bit system; however, I did have a free trial of Presenter 7 which worked once I changed from 64 bit Office 2010 to 32 bit Office 2010.

Kim,

I will email you links to the installers. She will need to run them all before it will work in Office 2010.

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

Hi AmyBadura,

I confirmed with a few of our users and they have a 64 bit system with 32 bit Office and Adobe Presenter is still not working for them. Did you say that you have 64 bit system with 32 bit office and it works now?

Did you have to do anything else?

I am in the process of gathering more information and creating a list of troubleshooting techniques for users, such as the steps that "redhatperl" and jorma have sent me, and having the users run it in compatibility mode.

Thank you!

Hi Kim,

I am currently running Adobe Presenter 7.0.6 on 64-Bit Windows 7 with MS Office 2010 (32-Bit). I am now trying to run it on a new machine with Win 7 64-Bit and Office 2010 64-Bit. Will post you soon.

Hi All,

Good news, Presenter did work on 64-Bit Operating System. You can install Presenter on 64-Bit Windows Operating System with 32-Bit MS Office 2007/2010 installed on it. Unfortunately Office 2007/2010 which is 64-Bit is not supported.

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

Hi Ravi, that is good news, but  my users have 32 bit Office and 64 bit system and they are the ones getting the error message from the other forum: http://www.connectusers.com/forums/cucb … hp?id=4996

Did Adobe say anything about the error message users are getting: "Adobe Presenter failed to open because either it is not licensed or there is an error in the licensing system. Please close and re-launch PowerPoint and enter
serial number to license it. If this problem persists, reinstall this product and try again."

Thank you!

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

I had success following directions in other threads, and I now have Presenter 7 running on 64 bit machine with 32 bit Office 2010.  I followed directions to alter registry keys to get Presenter to show up in PowerPoint.  Turns out the solution to the not licensed problem was dropping back to Internet Explorer 8.  After more than a month, I am finally up and running.  Thanks to all the problem solvers out there, especially Ravi.

Any idea on when Office 64 bit and Windows 7 64 bit will be supported?  Obviously this must be starting to hit your corporate level accounts that are now basing thier PC images on 64 bit across the board?

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

hey kim -

I ended up installing Presenter on a virtual machine on my computer ( I have 64bit office). I downloaded VMWare Player (free) and installed windows/office on it.  then downloaded Presenter.  the whole process took an hour.  Presenter runs fine and its a nice option for 64bit users.

Hi Dustin,

Are you sure that you have Office 64-bit version ? Did you played around with registry to install Presenter?

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

Yes, I'm running Office 64-bit.  That's why I installed a virtual machine in VMWare Player.  I installed Windows 7 and Office 32-bit in the virtual and Presenter works great.  VMWare Player even has a "Unity Mode" where virtual applications run as if they are native (i.e. the application icon shows up along side native application icons).

Re: Adobe Presenter 7 for 2010 only for 32 bit? What about 64?

Oh, and I see my first post was a little confusing.  To clarify, I didn't install Presenter in Office 64-bit.  My Office 64-bit is installed natively on my computer.  I used the virtual machine to installed a second copy of Office (the 32-bit version).  Then I installed Presenter into that 32-bit version of Office.

I have installed the presenter.msi, and patches several times and get this message too. I am running Win 7 Pro, IE 9 and office 2010, all 32 bit. Support has been no help; they confirm that I have a valid serial number. Is a "reset" of the serial number required in licensing? How can I make this happen?

What changes are necessary in the registry?
