Audio issues and ppt crashing

For most of the day I have started to do audio presenting over the slide sets.  I am ok for several of the slides then hit ok just to save the information and ppt crashes.  Then I restart ppt and hit "record audio" i can't load the ppcx file.  So then I have to start over.

I noticed that if I have to redo my audio do to flub that this occurs.

Is there any help that I can have the audio work?  I have rebooted the machine and really at a loss.

Hey Patrick,

Which version of Presenter are you using?  There were a number of issues with Presenter 7.0 that were resolved with the past few updates.  I believe the latest version is 7.0.2

I will request an update to 7.0.2 from my corporate IT.  Thanks for the response I will let you know.

Re: Audio issues and ppt crashing

You might be able to update on your own.  In the help, I was able to check for updates, which I was able to simply download.  I think it first went to 7.0.1 and then to 7.0.2, but it could have gone straight to 7.0.2.

Chris -

That option doesn't show but have them downloading the update.  Thanks for the suggestion

Re: Audio issues and ppt crashing

You need to "wake up" Presenter to see the update option. First go back and select the about link. Close the window and then the update link will appear in the help menu.

You will need to go to 7.0.1 and then 7.0.2, you can't skip updates.

Thanks Jorme - but the IT policy is strict and it is greyed out as an option.

Re: Audio issues and ppt crashing

gives a reason for them to exist.  So they can go in and download and install; otherwise....

Re: Audio issues and ppt crashing

In addition to updating Presenter it will look across your Adobe software (using the Adobe updater) and get the other product updates. Who knew InDesign and Photoshop CS4 had an update? ME now that is too cool.

I had the same problem!  I even downloaded the 7.0.2 version and nothing seems to work.  Any other ideas?

Re: Audio issues and ppt crashing

Hi folks

I also have flashpaper add-in installed from the link in the getting started page and when I activate this with the presenter add-in PPT will not start correctly and asks for Presenter to be disabled (v. 7.0.2).

Deactivate flashpaper from the add-in menu and it all seems to work just fine.

Re: Audio issues and ppt crashing

For what it's worth, Flashpaper is a dying product. It currently only works in Windows XP and older, and not for Mac. I would expect Adobe to be moving toward PDF support in Connect/Presenter/Captivate in the not too distant future, thus ending the Flashpaper Woes.
