Chat box slowness

We are using hosted Adobe Connect 9.5 and are having issues with a few users.  They report that in a meeting they have trouble with the chat box.  When they click in the chat box to type a message, the cursor does not blink.  If they start typing anyway, nothing shows in the box.  But if they wait 60 seconds or more, the text they typed finally shows. They can see everyone else's chat messages in real-time, so it doesn't seem like bandwidth issues. I've checked and they have the latest version of Flash player and the Adobe Connect Ad-in.  Any ideas on what I could test?  Thank you!
