Presenter or Connect or Captivate???
This is new territory for our organisation but Presenter has been recognised as the tool to present web based briefings to our audience and staff with the ability to prepare CD's and publish to .pdf. The only thing it cannot do (I think) is capture data on WHO accessed and passed the test.
I have played with the trial version of Presenter but don't want to recommend a 'dud' to my manager. Sellers are trying to sell me connect host, connect etc etc.
All we want to do is convert a ppt to a swf and embed on our website. However, am a little unclear about editing video with music (volume levels) - I had imported a video (with music) which, compared to the volume of the rest of the presentation was really loud and woke up the audience!
Would this need separate software to edit the video before import?
Do I need a connect pro server to host the presentations?
Is there anybody who could advise me in the simplest of terms please? Much appreciated.:/
My System Information:
Adobe Presenter / Windows

Re: Presenter or Connect or Captivate???
Hello,
It sounds like you are looking for the type of tracking options that are part of Connect Training module. You will see it referred to as eLearning and sometimes as Courses. It includes the ability to build a curriculum.
Presenter, by itself can be used as an authoring tool and when published to Learning Management System (LMS), it has hooks to integrate with an LMS for reporting, but by itself, it does not offer a report output download.
You will find many answers here: http://www.connectusers.com/news/index. … mp;id=2681

Re: Presenter or Connect or Captivate???
Thanks for your help - now I know that for any reporting I need an LMS - whether we used captivate or presenter. Any advice on a compatible LMS system that is basic but adequate for reporting name of accessor and results from accessing a presenter presentation with questions embedded on our website?
Thanks

Re: Presenter or Connect or Captivate???
Hi Again,
With reference to a lightweight LMS, the Connect Training module will be the quickest to learn, least expensive and most compatible with Presenter and Captivate.

Thanks for the quick response - one more thing if I may - we do not have a connect pro server, is this necessary?
