SWF File not playing

I saw that there was a similar thread about this, but this sounds like a slightly different problem.

I created swf files in Flash (Actionscript 2 file, but there's no actionscript in the file, so it's a moot point) and am trying to import it to a presenter project.  If I preview just the frame, the animation plays as expected, but for some reason, when I publish the project, the swf just sits there on the first frame for the duration of the slide.

I created a test project several weeks ago, and didn't have this problem at all... I can't seem to figure out what the problem might be.  I've tried several different swf files, including a garbage test one, but no swf files are running.

As I said, the project has no coding in it, was an AS2 file (if it matters, since there is no coding), and seems to follow all of the guidelines that I've been able to find.

Anyone have any ideas?

:EDIT:

In my wild, angry clicking, I accidentally had the same exact swf file added as a clip in the sidebar, and THAT one is playing fine.  So, the problem seems to have something to do with how presenter is seeing the slide...?

Re: SWF File not playing

At first glance mschneck, I'd be inclined to agree...perhaps it is a slide related problem, but I have a couple of questions:

1. What version of Presenter are you currently using, and have you installed the updates for Presenter to ensure that you're up to the 7.0.5 release?  It may seem trivial, but a number of issues surrounding the performance/playback of flash files were rectified after the plug in updates were made available.

2. What version of PPT are you publishing with?  There were some inconsistencies between PPT '03 vs '07 especially as Adobe made the plugin updates available, so perhaps there might be some remedy there as well.

Despite the above, let me also share a recent experience that occurred just last week to me:

While working on a PowerPoint deck (in Office 07) I too had included a couple of flash files that, in the past, were working fine.  After double checking my code to ensure it was "legit" AS 2.0, I recalled that I had recently reinstalled Presenter a couple weeks ago....and as it turned out, when I saved my presentation back to a legacy '03 file (meaning ppt vs pptx), all the flash files performed as expected.

Admittedly, I still need to double check the updates, despite the fact that my version of Presenter is technically 7.0.5 build 7588.

See if any of the above helps you out.

Re: SWF File not playing

Power point includes a couple of flash files. When you save any files from flash files then it will save bydefault in .fla file. You just save as it with .swf file with play, After selecting this option you can play .swf file.

Re: SWF File not playing

There seems to be the problem in the javascript in which the player you are using to play the .swf files. You can play the .swf files with the Flash 8. I used to play the .swf files with the Flash 8. I have not got any problem yet.

Do you have any solutions for this because I have a similar issue? If anyone could help, it would be great.
